Privacy policy

Draft — have an attorney review this policy before launch.

What we collect: your username, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash), and anything you choose to add — display name, city, state, ZIP code, bio, posts, positions you back and documents you upload.

Petition signatures: when you sign a petition we collect your name, email address and, if you choose, your ZIP code and a comment. Your email and ZIP are never shown publicly. Your name is shown on the petition unless you opt out. The petition’s organizer can download the signature list — including names, emails and ZIP codes — so they can deliver the petition to the decision-maker it’s addressed to.

What’s public: your username or display name, posts, positions you start, and positions you back when you choose to show your name. Your email address and ZIP code are never shown publicly.

How we use it: to run your account, show cases near you, send notifications you’ve asked for, and keep the community safe. We don’t sell personal information.

Your choices: you can edit your profile at any time or ask the moderators to delete your account.
